Shiatsu is an Japanese bodywork/massage therapy used to restore and enhance health. Through the application of hand pressure and stretching techniques shiatsu relieves muscle tension, eases joint stiffness and realigns the structure of the body. Pressure along the energy pathways moves stagnant Chi, the Vital Life Force energy, allowing the body to return to balance and harmony. Shiatsu is a very complete therapy as it treats the whole person on the physical, emotional, and spiritual levels. Sessions are often deeply relaxing though can be somewhat vigorous at times depending on the needs of the individual and how to best facilitate their healing process. Receiving regular shiatsu sessions improves the overall health and prevents the build up of stress in our daily lives. 

Shiatsu is performed through clothing. The session takes place on a shiatsu mat at floor level or a massage chair or table. Please wear or bring loose, warm, comfortable clothing and socks. Following a shiatsu session it is common to feel very calm, centered, balanced and re-energized.
